Biodynamic Pinot Noir, clones 2A and 115 from Bassi Vineyard in the hillsides of the Avila Valley in the SLO Coast AVA.
Bassi Vineyard is located only 1.2 miles from the Pacific. The vineyard is planted in 2001 to 30 acres on the 120 acre ranch. The soils are composed of sandstone, ranging from rock outcropping to sand deposits, a reminder of the close proximity to the ocean.
Fermented 100% whole cluster with native yeasts and aged untouched and unfiltered, in neutral French barrels for 11 months with no additions.
Tasting notes of red cherries, eucalyptus, and hibiscus come to mind.
12.2% ABV. Only 100 cases produced.
