2024 "Lou" Chardonnay - Presqu'ile Vineyard

My best Chardonnay to date. Sourced from organically farmed, own-rooted vines at Presqu’ile Vineyard, just 16 miles from the Pacific Ocean, in the heart of the Santa Maria Valley. The site’s pure sand and marine sediment soils, coupled with the vineyard’s proximity to the coast, shape a Chardonnay of crazy tension and energy.

The grapes were direct-pressed slowly and fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts. The wine then rested undisturbed for 1 year in neutral French oak, aging on its lees without additions, before being bottled unfiltered.

Think green apple, yuzu, and unripe pineapple. Pairs well with wild mushroom risotto, scallop crudo, and Camembert cheese.

12.2% ABV. Only 2 barrels produced.
